Our Editorial Principles
RealEstateHub exists to help readers make informed real-estate decisions. Every piece of content on this site is built on three principles: accuracy, transparency, and reader interest first.
Our Process
- Topic Selection โ We choose topics based on real reader questions and gaps in available coverage. We do not write content solely to chase keywords.
- Research โ Every article begins with primary-source research. AI tools may be used to accelerate discovery and structure, but never to replace verification.
- Drafting โ Drafts may be partially AI-assisted (see our AI Use Policy), but always shaped by editorial intent and a defined reader outcome.
- Fact-Check & Review โ Mandatory before publication (see below).
- Publication & Maintenance โ Articles include a "last updated" date and are re-reviewed at least annually, or whenever underlying facts change.
Fact-Checking & Verification
Every claim involving numbers, percentages, regulations, or real-estate guidance is verified against at least one of the following:
- Government agencies (HUD, FHFA, NAR, state housing departments)
- Peer-reviewed journals and authoritative industry publications
- Primary sources (original filings, public records, official statistics)
If a claim cannot be verified to this standard, it is either removed or clearly labeled as an opinion or estimate.
Subject-Matter Review
All content is reviewed by Jennifer R. Halverson before publication. Jennifer R. Halverson holds professional credentials in the real-estate field and applies them to ensure technical accuracy.
Sources We Trust
We prioritize these source types, in this order:
- Primary sources โ original studies, public filings, official statistics
- Government & regulatory agencies โ current at time of publication
- Peer-reviewed journals and major industry associations
- Established publications with their own editorial standards
We avoid linking to or citing low-authority blogs, social media speculation, or sources with undisclosed conflicts of interest.
Corrections & Updates
If you spot an error or outdated information in any article, please tell us. We correct errors openly:
- Material corrections are added as a dated note at the top or bottom of the article
- Outdated content is updated, archived, or removed โ not silently rewritten
- The "last updated" date reflects the most recent substantive review

Independence & Conflicts of Interest
RealEstateHub is reader-supported. We may earn a commission from qualifying purchases via affiliate links (see our AI & Disclosure Policy), but:
- Affiliate relationships do not influence which products we recommend or how we rank them
- We do not accept payment for positive coverage
- Sponsored content, when it appears, is clearly labeled as such
Reader Safety & Professional Boundaries
This site provides educational information, not personalized real estate or legal advice. Your specific situation requires consultation with a qualified licensed real estate agent, mortgage broker, or real estate attorney. We will always remind you of this in articles where the stakes are high.
